Hawai'i Yoga Festival is offering
exclusive access to an awe-inspiring lava tour courtesy of our friends at Kapoho Kine. You'll depart Kalani Honua on Thursday, October 12th at 1 pm for a hike out to see the
active 61g flow, followed by a scenic drive up to
Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park for a winery visit, barbecue dinner, and starlit view of the Puʻu ʻŌʻō crater. The tour returns to Kalani Honua around 9 pm, just in time to rest up for another day of activities!
What you need to know Red molten lava may not be seen and cannot be guaranteed, as volcanic activity changes in real time and cannot be predicted! While the hike itself is moderate, the climate conditions and uneven, rocky terrain can be unfamiliar - so be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes and a healthy sense of adventure. Expect moderate air temperatures at sea level with cooler temperatures at higher elevations in the park with occasional rain showers. Tours run rain or shine.
What to bringTravel light, but make sure you have your camera, plenty of water, government issued ID, and method of payment. You'll want to wear comfortable clothes, shorts or pants, a light jacket or sweatshirt, sunglasses, and hat. Note: comfortable closed-toe shoes are required for this tour!
